Overview

VMC is looking for some amazing people to help make the next generation of hockey games.  As a Development Support Tester, you would partner with game makers to ensure their products meet the highest standards.  You would be expected to become a subject matter expert in a specific product area, such as Audio, Gameplay or Online Multiplayer.  Don’t miss this chance to make something great.

Responsibilities

  • Work with QA, Designers and Developers to identify areas of improvement through feature understanding and analyzing, tools, reports and analysis
  • Partner with development team to execute a game quality plan for assigned area throughout the game development cycle to ensure to meet highest quality
  • Provide qualitative and quantitative feedback on features with issues to improve in-game features by utilizing solid data analysis to support the suggested changes
  • Identify opportunities for QA to provide early design feedback alongside defect prevention and defect containment activities
  • Perform a variety of testing types across multiple features - exploratory testing, requirements based testing, and ad hoc testing and regression testing, etc.
  • Written and verbal communication of defect information and tracking
  • Research of defects to provide detailed insight to all stakeholders
  • Analyze and report potential risks to features and systems and escalate as appropriate
  • Collaborate daily with members of Production and Development.
  • Attending scrums and team meetings.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation for area to ensure all features are understood and developed.
  • Create and maintain test plans.
  • Logging issues in database and working with developers to resolve.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of hockey: playing the sport, playing hockey video games and/or watch hockey matches
  • 1+ years of previous QA or Software Development Experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with partners at external locations.
  • Detail-oriented with strong observational skills.

Bonus Skills:

  • Previous experience working with Audio.
  • Previous experience setting up online environments like game servers, LAN parties, etc.
